Testimonial From a Bootcamp Participant

Testimonal From a Bootcamp Participant

I am a 47 year old mom who has been struggling with my weight for the past 10 years.  I have tried other programs to lose weight and I have not been very successful.  Recently I've joined Better Bodies Training and it has been 3 weeks so far,and I have to say that I find this program very appropriately challenging and very rewarding.  I like especially, the early schedule of the program, since I will be done with my exercise for the day before I start my day. I also like the variety of exercises alternating with running and hiking every other day.  Knowledge of our program leader, Chris about the program.  He is also very encouraging when it gets to the point  that its hard to go on.   Every Monday morning you get weighed and monitored for the result of the week.  So, no cheating would be possible on weekends.

I have just entered my fourth week. Even though I have not kept a food log the way the program has asked me to, I have thus far lost about 6 lbs,. 4% bodyfat, and shed 3 inches off my waist; if I keep the food log and keep the recommended calories per day I should be able to lose much faster.   I am enjoying this program very much, and I definitely recommend this to everyone.

First Trial Session for a Fellow Blogger

There are times when we get new recruits in our bootcamps and new 1-on-1 training clients where we know after a couple of days whether they will or will not complete the full 6 week program, but also give 100% to the process to achieve his/her goals.  On Monday, we had the pleasure to have a recruit join our 6AM bootcamp session we believe will not only complete the program, but who has the "right mindset" to reach whatever fitness and weight loss goal she sets for yourself. On top of that she is a fellow blogger. So, I wanted to post in its entirety the blog post entry she made after the first trial session. I have made no content changes and very little formatting changes to her posting.I would also like for you to give me your thoughts on whether you share my view or if you have a different opinion.

So, below you can read your blog posting or click on the link to read the posting directly on her site.

Boot Camp "Commitment or Be Committed"

I must be tired!!! I began writing my blog and posted it after I finished the title. I experience my very first ever BOOT CAMP. I am officially not a boot camp virgin. I have Mr. Chris Bass to thank for that. I have to admit I was hesitant at first, in fact I didn't sleep well the night before. I was suppose to go last wednesday but due to torrential rainfalls it was cancelled. At the time I felt a sigh of relief, this was certainly an Act of God. I now know that boot camp will "rev up the weight loss."
The entire experience was a positive one. Chris was professional and I truly felt in good hands. I'll tell you a few things that put me at ease:
  • Chris asked all the important questions about my health prior to going.
  • He asked if I had any physical limitations. *He also wanted to know what my exercise program was presently, easy "I don't have one."
  • Chris also wanted to know what my goals were. Were they attainable and were they practical.
  • Chris made me aware of what the boot camp "Better Bodies in Training" would entail. He was straight forward and very forthcoming with all the details of what to expect.
I realize now that there are three keys things to success with a good boot camp: GOALS, ROUTINE and MOTIVATION. When you see an example like Chris who walks to walk, it's easy to get motivated. He's not the aggressive militant type, thank the Lord for that. He is more listen closely and I will teach you the way type. He never yelled yet he was heard. He didn't crack jokes yet the participants laughed at times. I think I had a good laugh at myself. There were times throughout the hour that I thought "it looked easier than it was."I felt proud at the end of the session and a little shaky. I guess I should make this official and commit instead of being committed.
I COMMIT TO GOING 4 TIMES PER WEEK TO BOOT CAMP AND WATCHING WHAT I EAT. There you have it I said it, it's in black and white now and I am committed. The last and final thing that I need is your support. I need vindication that I am doing the right thing. I need a pat on the back and words of encouragement. Friends Make the World Go Round. Love Rosy
